THE CALIFORNIA LAW BUSINESS JOURNAL
LOS ANGELES – Labor and employment lawyer Angel Gomez has moved to a firm that’s as well-known as he is for that practice area, New York’s Epstein Baker & Green.
Gomez signed on in the Los Angeles office Feb. 1 and focuses on labor and employment litigation.
He had been with the local office of Katten Muchin Zavis, a 460-lawyer Chicago firm with 30 lawyers in Los Angeles. Gomez does employment litigation and counseling in areas like employee discipline, discrimination, union issues, ERISA and trade-secret matters.
He says he plans to grow his practice and trade on the national brand name of Epstein Becker.
“I was attracted by the depth and quality of the labor and employment practice. They’ve got great people and a top-notch national reputation,” he says. Epstein Becker is getting something of a brand in Gomez, too.
Gomez has co-written a treatise on California employment law.
His new firm houses 300 lawyers in 10 offices, with a cozy 25 in Los Angeles and 10 more in San Francisco.
Legal placement firm Watanabe Nason & Seltzer represented the New York firm.
