SAN DIEGO – Foley & Lardner: RAID BRINGS ZEVNIK HORTON OUTPOST TO UNTIMELY END
Milwaukee’s Foley & Lardner acquired four lawyers from the San Diego office of Zevnik Horton on July 1, bringing the Washington, D.C., firm’s tenure to a close in that city.
The group going over to the 980-lawyer Foley & Lardner comprises corporate partner Kenneth Polin, tax partner Peter Elias, real estate of-counsel Richard Moskitis and corporate associate Rebecca Perez-Serrano.
Zevnik Horton lost two other lawyers in the last quarter and recently shortened its name from the longer Zevnik Horton Guibord McGovern Palmer & Fognani, a moniker that implied the presence of three name-partners who since have left the firm. The 5-year-old Zevnik Horton firm is down to 40 lawyers from a peak of 90.
On behalf of his group, Elias says, “We found ourselves playing out of position from time to time. A move to a bigger firm made sense so that when a litigation or health care question comes up, we are better able to handle it.”
Legal recruiter Larry Watanabe of Watanabe Nason & Seltzer brokered the deal.
