LOS ANGELES – Sonnenschein Nath: PARTNERSHIP PROMISES ENTICE REAL ESTATE PRO
Lured by a partner position at Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal, transactional attorney Robert Johnson has left the Los Angeles office of LeBoeuf Lamb Greene & MacRae.
Johnson, 44, started Jan. 7 in the Chicago-based firm’s Los Angeles office. The real estate lawyer had worked at LeBoeuf for 10 years. He left Jan. 4 as of-counsel.
“Sonnenschein has quite a real estate platform in Los Angeles. They’ve got some of the finest real estate lawyers I’ve ever worked with, and the opportunity to work with them was something I couldn’t pass up,” Johnson says.
Johnson brings a $1 million book of business to Sonnenschein, including such clients as Perrier Group, Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles and Charter Communications. The latter two he advises on real estate acquisitions and development.
Dean Hansell, LeBoeuf’s co-managing partner of the Los Angeles office, wishes success for his departed colleague. However, Hansell does not believe the defection will affect his firm’s practice adversely.
Sonnenschein’s partner in charge of the Los Angeles office, Robert Scoular, could not be reached for comment.
Sonnenschein has 524 lawyers in eight offices across the country. LeBoeuf has 318 attorneys in 24 offices worldwide.
