SAN DIEGO – Mark Saxon has left Newport Beach’s Saxon, Barry, Gardner & Kincannon, a firm he helped establish in 1979, to join Gordon & Rees’ San Diego office.
The employment law specialist says that he’s joining the San Francisco-based firm because it has office locations throughout California. Besides San Francisco and San Diego, Gordon & Rees has offices in Los Angeles and Sacramento.
“They have a significant employment law practice,” says Saxon, who worked from Saxon Barry’s San Diego office. “They’re a statewide firm, and that is very important for me because I will be able to service my clients in all those areas.”
Gordon & Rees’ San Diego office has eight attorneys in its employment law practice with the addition of Saxon. In the last four years, the office has blossomed from 10 attorneys to 45, according to Southern California managing partner Miles Scully, who works from the firm’s Los Angeles office.
Saxon would not disclose his client list but did confirm that he would be bringing all of his clients to Gordon & Rees.
Saxon Barry management did not return calls for comment, but Saxon believes that the firm will drop his name. The eight-attorney business, litigation and real estate firm has offices in Newport Beach and San Diego.
