LOS ANGELES – Michael S. Kun has joined Epstein Becker & Green, P.C.’s Los Angeles office as a member of the firm, practicing in labor and employment law.
Kun has engaged exclusively in the practice of labor and employment law on behalf of management. He has litigated a wide variety of employment related claims, including class actions, discrimination, harassment, breach of contract, employee benefits, restrictive covenants, trade secrets, whistleblower, and defamation claims.
“Mr. Kun is precisely the sort of lawyer that EBG wants on its team,” said David Jacobs, managing partner of EBG’s L.A. office. “He is talented, smart, experienced, and creative. We look forward to a productive future together.”
Formerly a partner with Jackson Lewis, Kun has handled nearly two dozen class actions in California, Georgia, and Maryland involving a variety of employment claims, including discrimination and wage-hour claims, and has successfully defeated motions for class certification.
Kun received his BA in Political Science from Johns Hopkins, and his law degree from the University of Virginia. He is a member of the California, Georgia, and Maryland bars and has been admitted to practice by the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Fourth, Sixth, Seventh, Tenth and Eleventh Circuits, as well as U.S. District Courts in a variety of locations.
Also providing counseling and management training on employment issues, Kun is the author of “Dismissals That Didn’t Stick” for The Human Resources Professional, and regularly writes an employment law column for The People Report, a restaurant industry organization. Kun is a published novelist nominated for the Pulitzer Prize for his most recent novel, “You Poor Monster.”
“This is the start of an aggressive growth phase for this office,” said Jacobs. “We are proud to have Michael aboard.”
