LOS ANGELES – Entertainment attorney Daniel Rozansky jumped to the firm from Stroock.

Entertainment litigator Daniel A. Rozansky has joined the Los Angeles office of Jenner & Block LLP as partner, the firm said Monday. He was formerly a partner at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP, where he served for 15 years.

“Dan brings real expertise in profit participation, trade secrets and lots of other things that are critical components of our practice,” said Andrew Bart, co-chairman of the content, media and entertainment practice at Jenner. “We’re very optimistic that in hindsight this will be seen as a great strategic move for our practice.”

The practice has 22 partners and approximately 45 attorneys total.

In addition to litigation, Rozansky counsels clients on strategies to avoid disputes. He often looks over material in development to assist clients in identifying potential liabilities.

“When I do things like review pilots and scripts for clients to see if there could be an intellectual property issue or something like that, the ability to go to someone at Jenner is really an asset,” Rozansky said. “It fits in perfectly with what I do because they’ve really seen a lot.”

Attorneys at Jenner & Block have represented clients in high profile cases like Viacom International Inc. v. YouTube Inc. and WNET v. Aereo Inc.

“Dan brings to us a lot of expertise that takes advantage of the momentum we have right now,” said Rick Richmond, managing partner of the firm’s Los Angeles office. “We are absolutely thrilled to have Dan with us.”

While at Stroock, Rozansky recently represented entertainment fund Aramid Entertainment in its battle against financier David Bergstein and others. Many of Rozansky’s clients will follow him to Jenner & Block, he said, declining to go into details.

“We value Dan as a friend and colleague and wish him well on his future endeavors,” Samantha McNulty, a spokesperson at Stroock, said in a statement.

Rozansky was represented by Larry Watanabe of Watanabe Nason LLC in his move.
