THE RECORDER

SAN FRANCISCO — Intellectual property litigator Jason Lohr joined Hogan Lovells in San Francisco on Wednesday. He departed IP firm Novak Druce Connolly Bove & Quigg, and is expected to bring along more attorneys from the firm in coming weeks.
Lohr counsels companies on patent and other intellectual property issues and handles patent prosecution and post-grant proceedings before the Patent and Trademark Office. He is expected to bring Hogan Lovells his clients in computing, software and e-commerce, said Celine Crowson, a Washington, D.C. partner who is head of the firm’s intellectual property, media and technology practice.
Lohr’s hire is part of the firm’s strategy to grow its IP practice in Northern California and nationally, Crowson said. She added that a team of Lohr’s former colleagues, from Novak Druce and elsewhere, will follow in the coming weeks.
“It’s probably too early to say whether the team will include [additional] partners, but there will be a team of folks who will be starting around Jason’s first few weeks here,” Crowson said. Before joining Novak Druce, Lohr was a partner at Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton. He was not available for comment Wednesday.
Lohr’s placement was brokered by Ken Schwartz of Watanabe Nason & Schwartz.
“Jason represents major technology companies in the protection of their intellectual property rights. He has developed a substantial practice and will do well in Hogan’s global platform,” said recruiter Larry Watanabe.
