Watanabe is pleased to announce the placement of partners Joe Coleman and Greg Carpenter with Jones Day. Both are formerly partners with Snell & Wilmer and will practice in Jones Day’s Irvine office. Carol Su is also joining Jones Day as Counsel and formerly with Snell & Wilmer.
Joe Coleman’s practice is concentrated in commercial finance and real estate. His experience includes financing a variety of commercial properties, such as shopping centers, hotels, office buildings, golf courses, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities. Coleman has also represented lenders and developers in the financing of single and multifamily housing developments. In addition, he has assisted California’s premier lenders and developers in structuring, documenting, and closing secured and unsecured lines of credit and multi-property revolving facilities.
Greg Carpenter’s practice is concentrated in finance. He has extensive experience representing national and regional financial institutions in structuring, negotiating, and documenting secured and unsecured transactions throughout the country. Coleman’s practice focuses on asset-based and real estate financing transactions, including acquisition and development loans, construction loans, bridge loans, mezzanine loans, participating/contingent interest loans, multi-property revolving credit facilities, tenant-in-common credit facilities, working capital lines of credit, equipment lines of credit, syndications, participations, and other intercreditor transactions.
Watanabe, the firm providing partner and practice group placement and consulting services to law firms throughout California, has facilitated over 1000 transactions involving individual partners and groups.
